Blackhawks buy in Roscoe Village

According to several Chicago Tribune Elite Street reports, Chicago Magazine's Deal Estate and our network of associate brokers, there are a steady stream of Chicago Blackhawks players and their families nesting (cough) in Roscoe Village for some years now. In the next few days we'll be featuring some market data and videos of Roscoe Village... a neighborhood where I lived in the late 1990s, early 2000s and where I met my wife!

Median condo price over the last six months is $390,000 and median single family home price is over $850,000. The appeal is an upscale, yet eclectic neighborhood that's an easy commute to the United Center where the Blackhawks go to work. For players with families, there is ample shopping in grocery stores (Jewel, Dominicks, Trader Joes and the most important Costco at Damen and Clybourn), boutique gift stores, top notch dining, good school choices (public and private) and pretty easy commute to O'Hare airport.

You don't have to be a pro athlete to enjoy the neighborhood. There are rental options to fit almost any budget and plenty of condo and single family home options for the rest of us working for a living rather than slapping a puck around.
